Getting around. Schwerin has an extensive network of trains, buses, and subways operating throughout the city centre and the surrounding region. The old town is compact and easily explored on foot. Taxis are readily available at taxi ranks and can be hailed on the street.

Driving directions. From Hamburg.
Take the A24 towards Berlin and take exit 11 for Hagenow.
Turn left onto the B321 towards Schwerin.
