The Aphrodite Beach Resort is surrounded by beautiful gardens and palm trees. The complex consists of four buildings which are called Aphrodite, Apolon, Ermis and Athina. The hotel is situated on the beach of Gouves, 18 kilometers from the center of Heraklion, Crete's capital. The 330 air conditioned rooms have a light modern decor with balconies or terraces. All feature cable television, hair dryers and refrigerators.
Guests can take a dip in the seawater swimming pool, relax in the sauna, or bronze on the sun drench terraces with a drink at the poolside bar. Families will appreciate the babysitting faciltites, supervised child care and activities, children's pool, playground and arcade room. Conference rooms are available, as is a fitness center. The hotel's restaurant offers traditional Greek and international cuisine in an extensive buffet setting. The restaurant has low level lighting, air conditioning, and can seat up to 500 people. Guests can enjoy drinks in the bar's relaxed atmosphere and modern furnishings. The traditional Cretan village of Gouves is three kilometers away; 23 kilometers away is the ancient Minoan palace of Knossos. Nikos Kazantzakis Airport is 18 kilometers away. The hotel is a short taxi ride from the airport, costing approximately 18 EUR. Alternatively, buses run frequently and cost about 2 EUR. From airport Iraklion, take the new National Road in the direction of Agios Nikolaos. Take the exit road for Kato Gouves/Anopoli and follow the exit road round to the right. Drive past the first turn to the left and straight across at the next junction. Follow the road for ca 0.5km and turn left at the crossroads. Follow this road past shops,bars and restaurants and round to the left. At the bottom of this road, turn right towards the beach. The entrance of Aphrodite is ca 50m along this road on the left.
